The Next Steps for MLSs
By Modern.tech | September 13, 2024
The PropTech Innovator Network is a group of C-level PropTech executives who meet monthly to discuss the latest technology trends and receive unique insights from influential MLS & Industry leaders. On September 11th, 2024, the Network welcomed special guest Chad Jacobson, CEO of PrimeMLS. Jacobson’s strategic vision and strong leadership marks him as one of the most innovative minds in the real estate industry today.
Chad Jacobson Conversation Highlights
Navigating the future of MLS requires adaptability, data integrity, and a forward-thinking approach to technology. Jacobson asserts the future of MLSs lies in their ability to embrace innovation while maintaining their core value—data accuracy. As the industry faces the disruptive effects of the NAR Settlement, he argues that data, not cooperative compensation, is now the cornerstone of MLS success, emphasizing that reliable and accurate data is what will keep MLSs relevant in a shifting landscape, also playing a crucial role as the MLS consolidation trend continues.
Jacobson points out that embracing new technology, especially AI, is no longer optional for MLSs looking to stay competitive. The integration of AI in daily operations has become the new normal, and emphasizes that AI-powered solutions are essential when looking for potential partnerships. Ultimately, Jacobson’s vision for the future of MLS is built on balancing long-term innovation with the day-to-day demands of running a successful organization. He believes in empowering teams to make decisions and execute strategies that align with larger growth objectives. "You’ve got to let people be free and empower them to make decisions," he concludes. By focusing on data, leveraging technology, and fostering collaboration, Jacobson sees a path forward for MLSs to thrive in the face of industry disruption.
